Thatto Heath is an area of St Helens, in Merseyside, England. The population of the ward at the 2011 census was 12,280.[1] Historically in Lancashire, it lies approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) north-northwest of Widnes and about 12 miles (19 km) east of Liverpool city centre. The area is bordered by Eccleston, Rainhill, Ravenhead, Sutton and Windle. The area is notoriously known for being one of Merseyside’s highest areas for violent crimes and having a large gypsy community. Convicted criminal ‘Purple Aki’ Akinwale Arobieke has a holiday home in Thatto Heath on Broadway Hill, part-owning a gym nearby with celebrity figure Vanessa Feltz
Thatto Heath is a ward of the Metropolitan Borough of St Helens.[2]
Transport
The area is served by Thatto Heath railway station, on the City Line between Liverpool and Wigan.
Sport
Thatto Heath is most noted for rugby league; the Thatto Heath Crusaders currently compete in the National Conference League Division 1.
