Trace/Ace

Err, this is the ENGLISH Wikipedia, not the Japanese. Shouldn't the name be changed to Trace?

Ace's bounty.

It was recently added in the List_of_One_Piece_bounties that Ace has a 200,000,000 bounty. When, the hell, did they say that? (was also posted on the bounty list talkpage) Kurigiri 14:05, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • It has not been revealled what his bounty is. I updated that page a while ago to fit that, and put a place for undetermined bounties to help avoid false bounties being placed. There has been a wanted poster of him, but is was in a filler episode. Angel Emfrbl 14:02, 12 June 2006 (GMT).

Ace's Voice Actor

  • Is there any listed source that shows he was voiced by Frank Frankson? Kirbopher 9/9/06
There are very little listed sources of any characters in series done by 4Kids. It usually comes down to listening to the voices by ear or contacting the actors/voice director. The Splendiferous Gegiford 18:30, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
...so? To ME he certainly doesn't sound like Tristan Taylor, so just because he SOUNDS like him doesn't mean it IS him. The same apply for many of them. Scott McNiel playing Bon Clay from a while back was ridiculous, considering he's in another country. If his english voice actor hasn't been confirmed by some actual source then it shouldn't be listed as an assumption. Kirbopher 9/15/06
You realize that Frank Frankson has done more voices than Tristan, right?
I realize that, but I think this whole thing about listing them by 'what they sound like' is ridiculous. If we're going to go with official stuff like with all other dub voice acting, it's only fair that we leave that segment blank until it's officially stated who plays him in some way. I've been TRYING to get in contact with someone at 4Kids who could give me a cast list, but nothing so far. Kirbopher 11/5/06
I agree. Good Voice Actors are capable of many voices, including imitating some others. Can you honestly tell that most Looney Tunes characters were voiced by the same voice actor? No you can't but they were. You SHOULD leave them blank. BTW, good luck with contacting 4Kids, you'll have better writing to them then e-mailing... But generally, they are somewhat not very talkative. I've tried contacting them myself a while back asking for some information with no response. Angel Emfrbl 10:35, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reworked the page

Basically its not much... I just made it match the other One Piece characters pages. Angel Emfrbl 17:05, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ace's parentage

While there's the obvious implication that Ace and Luffy have same father, the family names of both of them is a implication otherwise. Considering that Luffy, Dragon, and Garp all share the same family names (Monkey/Monkī), while Ace's family name is Portgas, I believe that Luffy and Ace are half-brothers from the same mother. Since there is no conclusive evidence either way, I'm going to remove the statement that Garp is his grand-father, and Dragon is his father. --Kaziel 22:48, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What evidence is there that "Portgas" is his surname? If anything, the "D." is what links everyone together, and Luffy, Dragon, and Garp share "Monkey" as a "middle" name.
Further, Garp mentions raising Ace and giving both him and Luffy to a friend to be raised after Garp had to leave Fuchsia Village; surely you're not implying that Garp adopted Ace after Luffy was born? Magaroja 22:52, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Guys... Can I remind you this isn't a forum. Bottom line; there are plenty of sites to discuss this. For the time being we should leave it as 'Its unknown as to why Ace and Luffy do not share the same family name'. Also Oda confirmed 'Monkey' was Luffy's family name in one SBS. The guys at Arlong Park are still trying to get someone to do a full translation and some have asked for a clean up of that scan. So the reference is temporary and may change. I thought it best I linked to this topic on Arlong Park so everyone knew what and where the statement of Ace and Luffy suggested being adoptive brothers came from. Remember, this is from an EARLY translation. Its might change. Angel Emfrbl 08:25, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
