Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Seeking your help to translate from English

Hello my fellow Wikipedian,

Thanks for taking your time off to help hapless Wikipedians and otherwise stucked-up articles find their way to the forefront of other non-English speaking readers. I would hope that I have approached you the right way.

Nonetheless, I humbly seeks your intervention to translate the following pages, since I gathered that it may mean something to Wiki readers in other languages.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Letters_to_Obama

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Adonis

Thanks in anticipation for facilitating this request.

Webwatchergy (talk) 15:37, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Did you nominate this article for deletion?

Did you actually nominate the article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_Adonis for deletion?

Are you crazy?

Where are your reasons?

You was asked to assist with translation because I felt that the article is deserving of translation.

I consider this vandalism.

It is not vandalism. Reasons for deletion are given on the deletion page. Bueller 007 (talk) 16:42, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Totally disagreed, and would maintain that it is an act of vandalism.
Then you need to learn how to use Wikipedia. Bueller 007 (talk) 17:06, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your Input

I noticed you have been policing non-notable bios. I've had several on my watchlist that have been notability-tagged for quite a while and would appreciate your opinion on whether they might be salvaged or would better go to AfD or Prod: Alexa Sand, Animal Rights Hall of Fame, Annie Reiner, Chris Griscom, Debra Fine, Dying While Black, Jane M. Blocker, Jenna Torres, Kiki Ebsen, Ronald Loui, Sarah Turner (journalist), Sarita Shrestha, Tamara Millay, Tanya Mayo, Ted Junker, The Quiet Club. Thanks in advance for any attention you might be able to give to these. Agricola44 (talk) 16:20, 20 January 2015 (UTC).[reply]

  • My recommendations would be to keep "Sarita Shrestha" and (probably) "Animal Rights Hall of Fame" (though I think that is already established here, so it can just be a redirect). Probably keep "Kiki Ebsen" (though the article/referencing needs to be improved). "Tamara Millay" should merely be a redirect page to the most recent election that she has run in. The "Ted Junker" story seems like it might be notable and interesting, but on the other hand WP:ONEEVENT and the article is crap. All the rest can be deleted for sure, I'd say. Bueller 007 (talk) 16:41, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Agricola44 (talk) 17:28, 20 January 2015 (UTC).[reply]
Thanks for starting to take care of some the edits (Tamara Millay, Animal Rights Hall of Fame). I think the really obvious ones I will first try to Prod to see how those pan out. Agricola44 (talk) 22:09, 20 January 2015 (UTC).[reply]
dropping by, in my opinion Jane Blocker will easily meet WP:PROF. Richard Louis might well be notable, but the article is outrageous over-detail, the very sort of thing that is so difficult to deal with here. DGG ( talk ) 01:23, 8 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fiorina

Thanks for giving some expert attention to the Carly Fiorina article. This is just a friendly reminder about the WP:3RR policy. I haven't examined your edits closely enough to see if you've exceeded the 3RR threshold, but I figured it couldn't hurt to remind you about it, given the number of edits today. Cheers.Anythingyouwant (talk) 02:17, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

3RR is designed to prevent edit wars, and there's no evidence that any of my recent edits are part of one. Or that I have reverted anything more than once. What exactly are you suggesting? Bueller 007 (talk) 02:21, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a matter of how many times you have been reverted. It's a matter of how many times you have reverted stuff that was already in the article. There are probably editors besides myself who have stopped themselves after changing article content several times today. If you haven't read the WP:3RR policy in a while, it might be worth a look. Cheers.Anythingyouwant (talk) 02:26, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Right, it's about undoing what others have done. Quoting, "A series of consecutive saved revert edits by one user with no intervening edits by another user counts as one revert." As I said, 3RR is about edit warring; there can be no war if there's only one person engaged... There have been no intervening edits to any of the content that I've changed, so I have performed a total of exactly one "revert" today. Bueller 007 (talk) 02:38, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The intervening edits need not involve the same content.Anythingyouwant (talk) 02:48, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ariel Fernandez article editing

Dear Bueller007, I appreciate your efforts to tighten and fix the BLP (I may disagree with some things but will not interfere). I have an idea to put this matter to rest once and for all. Would you agree to tighten up the paragraph on the challenged papers? Instead of "more than two hundred peer-reviewed papers", the accurate statement would be "more than 250 peer reviewed papers (Scopus), or about 350 (listed in his CV)". Instead of "Several" papers have been questioned, I would say "Four". If you agree with such changes, I could have someone translate the entire BLP into Spanish and thus fix the Spanish version as it seems to be a matter of concern to you as well. Sincerely, Ariel Fernandez.181.10.76.232 (talk) 13:06, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think 200 is a better estimate according to Scopus, since the total article count is just over 250, and a number of the papers listed are errata, corrigenda, etc. Google Scholar is not an acceptable source for total article count because it picks up poster presentations, etc. I think several --> four is a fair change. Bueller 007 (talk) 17:03, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This is fine with me. Appreciated. In order to show my side of the story, would you consider quoting a brief disclaimer that I can compose and post in my professional website? The disclaimer could read as follows:

"In regards to my four papers challenged by NIH software contractor Joshua L. Cherry, I hereby state that no proof of invalid data exists or has been presented that would require retraction. AF " Once you are satisfied with the BLP, I can translate it into Spanish, so you can incorporate it into the Spanish Wkipedia as you see fit. I trust this would be agreeable to you. Sincerely, AF.181.10.76.232 (talk) 21:26, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ariel. I suggest that "Joshua L. Cherry" is removed from the statement, as Wikipedia will not be able to quote your statement directly unless you can substantiate that he is the claimant somewhere on a non-self-published source. If you put the statement on your own website under your own name and send me the URL, I will add the statement to the end of that paragraph. (However, it will be up to the community to determine whether they wish to keep the statement on the article or not. In the interest of balance, I think it will be safe to say that it should be kept.) You should not contribute to your own article in any language (even if it is just a translation), so I recommend you check with the Wikipedia list of English-Spanish translators to convert it. Bueller 007 (talk) 23:38, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Bueller007. I posted a brief disclaimer and removed the name Joshua L. Cherry from it. The disclaimer is now published online at the url:

http://www.profarielfernandez.com/disclaimer.html In regards to the Spanish translation, I will search for an official Wikipedia translator once you are satisfied with the article. Sincerely, AF.186.138.183.140 (talk) 00:34, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bueller007, I must say that you have done an exceptionally good job with the BLP. I may not necessarily agree with everything or like what is there but cannot deny that you have been extremely careful and thorough. I doubt there may be other edits of this quality in Wikipedia, where the editor takes the trouble to read professional papers. I regret our earlier differences and apologize for the troubles this has caused. On a positive note, the quality of the final product makes up for the earlier problems. AF.186.138.183.140 (talk) 11:35, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bueller007, Someone may fail to reproduce a result due to his or her incompetence, not because the result is invalid. As PLoS Genetics clearly stated in its Expression of Concern: "This Expression of Concern should not be considered as a statement regarding the validity of the work, but rather as a notification to readers". This is exactly the position of COPE they abide by. AF.186.138.183.140 (talk) 00:00, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to India, use Indian English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Amber Heard. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Davey2010Talk 02:30, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, but your recent edits, such as those to Shigeru Miyamoto, appear to be intentional disruptions designed to illustrate a point. Edits designed for the deliberate purpose of drawing opposition, including making edits you do not agree with or enforcing a rule in a generally unpopular way, are highly disruptive and can lead to a block or ban. If you feel that a policy is problematic, the policy's talk page is the proper place to raise your concerns. If you simply disagree with someone's actions in an article, discuss it on the article talk page or, if direct discussion fails, through dispute resolution. If consensus strongly disagrees with you even after you have made proper efforts, then respect the consensus, rather than trying to sway it with disruptive tactics. Thank you. --ThomasO1989 (talk) 22:14, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Translation Help

Good day! I would like to ask for your help in translating a Japanese wiki article. This article in English wiki was nominated for deletion (see [2]). The English article's sources seem weak for establishing notability so I went to find a Japanese wiki article and was unable to find one. Another editor suggested that this Japanese wiki article (see - "お田鶴の方". ) was about subject of the AFD (Iio Tazu - aka Otatsu no Kata) but it appears to be about a different person. If you have the time, would you take a look at the "お田鶴の方". article and see if it is useful to the AFD[3] and, if possible, leave your response there. Thanks! Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Long-term effects of cannabis. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. Alexbrn (talk) 06:55, 18 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

From the cited source[4] "The topic of discussion: A high-profile Russian money laundering case and related sanctions on Russia......The focus, according to two eyewitnesses in the hotel lobby, was a U.S. federal money-laundering case in New York. The government is targeting Prevezon Holdings, a Cyprus company that has invested.....Rohrabacher acknowledged to CNN that the case came up in conversation with Akhmetshin."

Written into article was: "There was a discussion about the Prevezon money laundering case, along with the related sanctions against Russia."

I wanted to remove tag, but am not sure what needs to be clarified first. Thanks, WikiVirusC(talk) 23:24, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It says "There was a discussion about the Prevezon money laundering case", but there is zero explanation anywhere in the article what the "Prevezon money laundering case" is. It should either be changed to "a money laundering case" or a parenthetical explanation should be added. Bueller 007 (talk) 00:20, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ive changed it. When I first wrote it, I just figured saying a money laundering case by itself would be what needed more clarification, hence why I went and got more information about the case from rest of article and added the name of it in.

Translation request

Hi, I'm reaching out to you since you were listed on Wikipedia:Translators available#Japanese-to-English. User:Phoenix_God made a request of me to add some information but since I don't speak Japanese I asked on their behalf at WikiProject Anime and manga, but didn't get any takers there. What needs to be added is that for the series Domestic Girlfriend, a web movie was made. The user suggested this source, but the jawiki article's source or any other could also suffice. Let me know if you're able to take it, if not, we'll just have to see elsewhere. Opencooper (talk) 02:38, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I won't touch manga/anime. Bueller 007 (talk) 02:41, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NBHS

You've been here for nearly 3 years. You should know what notable means by now. It has nothing to do with fame. The Notable alumni section in any school article has two requirements. One, the person has to be Notable. He isn't. You will not find one reliable source that has ever discussed this assclown in any context outside his connection to the church shooting. That means he fails WP:BLP1E. Second, his tie to the school must be reliably sourced, either in the list or in his non existent biography. Third, posting negative info about a person subject to WP:BLP without sources is a serious policy violation. BLP is quite clear that blp issues stay out without consensus. There is no consensus. Going forward, you are welcome to try to establish one, or write his bio. Per guidelines we do not mention non notable students past or present in school articles. Please establish a consensus as to why we should make an exception for this guy. John from Idegon (talk) 18:23, 7 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Baker

I see you've been admonished by other editors for edit-warring and for uncivil edit summaries, among other things. You now appear to be edit-warring at Ken Baker (entertainment journalist). Per WP:BRD, once you were reverted, protocol is to discuss your proposed edits on the article talk page and attempt to reach consensus with other editors.

However, your proposed edits contain some bright-line violations. We cannot make uncited personal-life claims, including uncited claims of birth dates, per WP:BLP. These need WP:RS citing. As well, we do not highlight unproven allegations in the WP:LEAD, which is a summary of why the person is notable. Additionally, per WP:BLPCRIME, "A living person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until convicted by a court of law," and in this case there is not even a charge but simply a claim. While they may or may not be notable for the article body, it has no bearing on his notability and does not belong in the lead. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:44, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The citations for his birth date and location are his own books. The information is publicly available. In addition, you should feel free to continue whitewashing unproven sexual assault allegations on these articles: Harvey Weinstein, Roy Moore, etc. Bueller 007 (talk) 01:43, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
WP:RS citations need to be in the article as proper footnotes; we can't just "take your word for it."
As to other articles, any that contain violative content need to be brought up to standard, not used as an example. WP:OTHERSTUFF. Feel free to edit those articles.--Tenebrae (talk) 01:57, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't swear in edit summaries

Hello, I noticed you used the word "shitty" in a recent edit summary for [Boone and Crockett Club]. I ask of you to refrain from using such vulgar language in summaries, it really doesn't help anyone. WikiRay360 (talk) 02:15, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lede and info box

Yes, both the lede and the info box per WP convention repeat what is already in the body text in shorter, more summary form. That is in fact what they should do. If they leave out the pertinent high level facts, such as here the allegation and suicide, that is a problem. Please don’t delete language that is appropriate. See, for example, WP:LEDE. 2604:2000:E016:A700:64D4:5053:1FA2:2640 (talk) 05:59, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Santa Fe High School shooting

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Santa Fe High School shooting shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
You have reverted the page to include the suspects intention to commit suicide. This has already been entered into the article and does not need to be duplicated. -- Mr Xaero (talk) 01:27, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not an edit war. Bueller 007 (talk) 02:16, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited William A. Fletcher, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kevin Cooper (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 3 days for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

January 2019

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on P90X; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Enough already. You are clearly editing against consensus. Drmies (talk) 02:46, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An edit war is not a single revert. Get a clue. Bueller 007 (talk) 03:12, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You should probably get a clue as well, since your message to Drmies is nonsense. Acroterion (talk) 03:21, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please clarify how it is nonsense. You were apparently incapable of leaving a coherent message on his page. Bueller 007 (talk) 03:26, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Drmies has reverted once. Ronz has reverted once. Your assertion concerning Drmies is wrong. Perhaps you should walk away from the keyboard for a while, rather than complaining about other editors who might disagree with you, or who point out issues with your claims about article history. Acroterion (talk) 03:31, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have already acknowledged this error on Drmies' page. There is no need to walk away from a keyboard. Please do not impart motives or emotions to me. Bueller 007 (talk) 03:35, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Good - please remember that edit-warring doesn't necessarily involve a 3RR violation, and that you've been asked to start a new discussion. Acroterion (talk) 03:42, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
