Ravid Plotnik (Template:Lang-he, born 13 January 1988), also known by his stage name Nechi Nech is an Israeli singer and rapper.[1]

Biography

Ravid Plotnik was born in Petah Tikva, Central District, Israel to Uzi, a businessman, and Tali, a housewife, a second-year-old son after a sister named Shira. When he was 6 years old, his family moved to Sha'arei Tikva. When he was 12 his mother died of cancer and two years later his family returned to live in Petah Tikva. When he was 13 years old he became interested in African-American music under the influence of his older sister, a singer as well.

Plotnik began to write amateur rap in the wake of his childhood hero, Subliminal.[2] About his childhood and the beginning of his work in Petah Tikva, he wrote extensively, especially in his third album, "Welcome to Petah Tikva".

His stage name was derived from the Amharic word "Nech" (ነጭ, meaning: white), most of Plotnik's childhood friends were Ethiopians and called him so affectionate.[3]

In 2003 he funded the "Produx" band with his friends Shmuel "Aristo" Yosef and Shimshon "Chichu" Adama.
