Chengalpattu (Template:Lang-ta) is one of the 35 districts of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Chengalpattu. Chengalpattu district came into existence on 18 July 2019 when it was carved out of the erstwhile Kanchipuram district. Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami made the announcement on the floor of the assembly on the date of its creation.
