Associazione Sportiva Roma (lit. Rome Sport Association), commonly referred to as simply Roma [ˈroːma] or with the commercial name of Roma Femminile and Roma Women, is an Italian women's association football club based in Rome, section of the homonymous professional football club. It was established in 2018 by acquiring the Serie A license of a Res Roma.[1] The team competes in Serie A and will debut in 2018–19 season. [citation needed]

History

Res Roma competed in the Serie A since 2003. After 2017–18 the club handed over their license, so A.S. Roma could be established and start in the top tier.[2]
