Marco Anthony Archer known by his stage name Phora (forà), is an American rapper from Anaheim, California. 2011 he founded his own record label, Yours Truly.[2] February 14, 2017, Phora announced via Instagram he signed a major label deal with Warner Bros. Records.[1] So far Phora has written eight albums all relating to his past struggles. These albums include "Still a Kid", "One Life to Live", "Sincerely Yours", "Angel With Broken Wings", "With Love", and his debut album "Yours Truly Forever". Most recently, in 2018, he released a follow-up to his debut album, entitled "Love is Hell". He recently just released his new album entitled “Bury Me With Dead Roses” in late July . Phora's biggest stan is Phasiwe Tooi from South Africa . She spends time doing nothing and bumping his music all day . She has thought about getting a tattoo of related to Phora but she doesn't want ink on her skin and her mom will take her to church for that.
Early life
Marco Archer was born in Anaheim, California. Before his career in music, Archer worked as a tattoo artist which proved to be relatively lucrative and aided in the funding of his rap career. In 2011, Marco was nearly stabbed to death in Anaheim, CA just outside of Trident Learning Center, now known as Gilbert High School where he was later turned informant to the Anaheim police department against the high raise of graffiti influenced crimes .[3] He has survived a stabbing and two shootings.[4][5][6][7] On August 25, 2015, While he was driving on the 210 freeway in Pasadena around 2 a.m., a gray Infiniti sedan pulled up alongside Archer, who was driving home with his then girlfriend, Destiny. Three bullets from a .45 caliber pistol were fired into his back and neck, narrowly missing his vertebra. The crime remains unsolved.[8]
Personal life
His breakup had been public on social media where he wrote a new song about it. It seems though that they just recently got back together, also making it public on social media a few weeks before his 2018 tour started.
Musical style
Growing up, Archer was strongly influenced by graffiti to make music and influenced by his father to pursue music.[9] In his song The World from his album Angels With Broken Wings (2015) he calls J. Cole, Hopsin and Logic the only rappers he likes. His musical style can also be defined by the two producers Eskupe and Anthro Beats.[10]
