Iftikhar-ul-Ḥasan ibn Rauf-ul-Ḥasan Kāndhlawī c. (10 January 1922 – 2 June 2019)[1] was an Indian Islamic scholar. He laid the foundation of Idgah of Kandhla in the year 1946.[2] He wrote more than forty books.[3] His elder sister was married to Indian hadith scholar Muhammad Zakariya Kandhlawi.
Education
Iftikhar-ul-Hasan studied Quran under Hafiz Rahim Bakhsh Hafiz Bhakan, whilst did the hifz of Quran by heart under Hafiz Sadat Khan Deobandi, in Madarsa Ahyaul uloom, in Muzaffarnagar. After memorizing the Quran, Iftikhar traveled to the centre of Tablighi Jamaat, Hazrat Nizamuddin, to study Persian and Arabic, in Madarssa Kashiful Uloom. But the atmosphere did not suit him; therefore, he came to Muzaffarnagar again and studied there until Sharah Jaami (a book of Arabic grammar) in Madarsa Muradiyah. After completion of studies from Madrasa Muradiyah, Iftikhar went to Mazahir Uloom, Saharanpur to pursue higher studies. After graduating from Mazahir Uloom, Saharanpur, he intended to stay at Kandhla, regularly, and began to reform Ummah (community) according to the Quran and Hadith.
Sufism
He did bayah in the hands of the founder of Tablighi Jamaat, Muhammad Ilyas Kandhlawi, and after his demise, Iftikhar turned to Abdul Qadir Raipuri and was authorized to accept bayah from others.

Death
Iftikhar ul Hassan Kandhlawi died 2 June 2019 coinciding Islamic date 27 Ramadan, 1440 AH in Kandhla, India at the age of 97.[5] He is survived by 3 sons and 3 daughters.
