Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy
Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy (born on 6th April 1980), popularly known as “”Sivanna “” is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. He represented Darsi constituency in the 13th assembly term from Indian National congress party. He is a doctor tuned politician. Prior joining politics he served as ophthalmologist doctor.
He and his entire family is ardent to Andhra Pradesh chief minister Sri. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Early life
Siva Prasad Reddy born to Buchepalli Subbareddy (a former MLA – 2004 to 2009) and Venkayamma on 6th April 1980 in Chimakurthy, Praksam district. He did his schooling from B.V. Subbaiah school. Later he moved to Chennai to complete his MBBS course in Rama Chandra Medical college in 2004 where he specialized in Optics.
He married to Nandhini Reddy. His brother Kamalakar Reddy (Famous with his first screening movie – ABHI name) is a famous film personality in Tollywood industry.
His father late, Sri Subba Reddy known for his charity activities for needy and poor people in the whole Praksam district.
Political Dossier
Post his medicine, based on his father recommendation he entered in politics and won as MPTC from Chimakurthy and served as “”Mandal parisath president (MPP)”” for the same Mandal. During his regime, he extended his support to all the villages through government grants especially for the rural development and basic infrastructure.
Later, he contested as a M.L.A from Darsi constituency from Indian national congress against Telugu Desam candidate Mannam Venkata Ramana and won the election with thumping majority of 14000. Siva Prasad Reddy secured close to 43% vote share during this election. Reddy & his family are strong loyalists of late Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajashekara Reddy.
With the inspiration of then CM Late YSR, Siva Prasad Reddy credited with lot of development activities in his constituency especially in the areas of Tallur, Kurichedu and Mundlamuru. During his tenure, he gave utmost care to the poor people and ensured all the government schemes reaches to common and needy people.
Mr. Reddy and his family later differed from Congress claiming the party is ill-treating YSR Son, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and joined the party announced by him. Siva Prasad Reddy is one of first legislators to Join Jagan when the latter came out of the party. Besides Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, he was the lone legislator from the congress party to participate in Jagan’s “”Odarpu Yatra””in the district. In fact, Jagan’s open confrontation with the congress high command began with his Praksam tour when the high command forced other legislators to keep distance from Odarpu Yatra. Braving all such pressures from the high command, Siva Prasad reddy accompanied Jagan throughout his tour and openly admits that “”he is ready to quit congress” ”and “” YSR family”” is the high command for them.
He contested from YSR congress in 2014 and lost the election to his political rivalry Sidda Raghava Rao with very narrow margin.

Mr. Reddy decided not to contest in 2019 elections and extended his support for the party candidates suggested from his chief Jagan in Darsi and Santhanuthalapadu constituency and played a pivotal role in their winning.
