The Best song

What's the source for the new Nas/Jay-Z/Biggie track? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.207.169.235 (talkcontribs)

I don't think it exists. I'll delete it if I can find out if the song isn't real — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.221.173.208 (talkcontribs)

This tracklist hardly seems credible. Nas is not know to have more than 16 songs on an album; it usually consists of 15. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samil20 (talkcontribs)

The tracklist isn't credible at all. I'm deleting it. You people need to cite your sources. --Jaysscholar 19:44, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've heard the Nas Jay and Biggie track. It definitely exists, but it's highly doubtful that it'll be on the album. It's just a compilation of verses from songs all 3 artists have already released and it's not very good.

Articles for Deletion debate

This article survived an Articles for Deletion debate. The discussion can be found here. -Splashtalk 23:18, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted the production section, already enough is known who is going to produce individual songs. Poorly written as well.

Protection

I'm seriously thinking of protecting this page from new users. This is getting too annoying with adding and removing information without any sources. --Zimbabweed 04:12, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

USE SOURCES!!

If your are going to add information, you MUST cite your source. All these tracks that are suppossedly confirmed have no sources. And now somebody put a November release date? What is your source!?!? I think people who add information without citing to this article should be blocked. --Jaysscholar 15:33, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you should be blocked.--Samil20 17:08, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to MTV and Def Jam Nas is scheduled to release on November--198.110.72.130 17:07, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find that on there websites. Do you have a link? --Jaysscholar 23:06, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most of this article should be removed and cleaned up. It sounds more like a forum post than an encyclopedic source. "Not on Kingdom Come but right chea"? Come on.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.138.228 (talkcontribs)

I've added sources where applicable and deleted unsourced material. --Zimbabweed 18:52, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No source for tracklist, Im deleting it. --Samil20 13:17, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Time for a change?

It seems almost all recent news articles are citing the name as Hip-Hop Is Dead...The N. Does anyone else think a move is needed? --Zimbabweed 05:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

agree, Hip-Hop Is Dead...The N, is the correct album name.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.110.72.130 (talkcontribs)

Defo, plus 50's come out with a mixtape called Hip-Hop Is Dead, so it may cause confusion. -Mittens

Ether Part 2?

Any sources?

Ether Part 2 is a very poor remix of Ether. It's basically the same, but much lower quality, and at the start, "Fuck Jay-Z" is replaced with "Fuck 50 Cent". "Fuck" is still a sample of 2pac, but "50 Cent" is a sample of 50 Cent saying his name on a mixtape. It cuts out 2/3rds of the way through n'all.

N.Y. State of Mind Part 3?

First one was a God given track. The Second was graphic but will there ever be a third?

1st: N.Y. State of Mind (Illmatic)

2nd: N.Y. State of Mind Pt. II (I Am...)

3rd: Streets of New York (Alicia Keys featuring Nas & Rakim) (Unreleased)

"Hip-Hop Is Dead... The 'N'" as opposed to "Hip-Hop Is Dead"

Due to the lack of action taken on this page, I have changed all incorrect references from "Hip-Hop Is Dead" to "Hip-Hop Is Dead... The 'N'". I shall also add the sources to all confirmed tracks. The page that formerly belonged to this album should, in my opinion, be deleted, changed to details of the 50 Cent mixtape, or kept in reserve for the upcoming single "Hip-Hop Is Dead" (which Nas has confirmed, I will now hunt down the source). If you have a problem with it, don't share it, because it's inevitable it would've had to change anyway.

'Carry on Tradition' and 'Where Are They Now' are two confirm tracks by Nas himself, I provided the source

Please do not delete the tracklist, or any tracks, these have all been confirmed tracks for Hip-Hop Is Dead...The N. The sources are provided.--Samil20 13:36, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Album's coming out December 5th, MTV says it in that last article they posted about Nas.

Some sources say Dec. 19th while other sources state Dec. 5th, I dont think Def Jam has settled on an 'Official' date betweent the two. --Samil20 18:52, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, someone should not just change it from Dec 19 to Dec 5, while leaving the same source in the article that only says Dec 19. --Zimbabweed 18:54, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fader and XXL have confirmed the tracks that I posted and were deleted by some user. DO NOT DELETE these tracks have been confirmed and I have posted the sources. --Samil20 18:55, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you're referring to http://xxlmag.com/online/?p=5224, then the only songs I see mentioned there are "Unforgettable" and "Let Me In The Light." Where are the others? And I deleted your Fader "confirmed tracks" because blogs are not acceptable sources for wikipedia, see WP:RS. If no other "source" refers to these songs, they must be deleted. --Zimbabweed 19:09, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Once again Fader is a magazine not a blog here is the link ONCE AGAIN http://www.thefader.com/blog/articles/2006/10/12/rebirth Do you still want to disagree?--Samil20 12:05, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This link confirms:

- L.E.S. produces his collaboration with Jay-Z. No name is given though.

- Let Me In The Light is produced by Kanye West, although it does stress that the author isn't 100% sure of the track's title.

- It confirms that Will.I.Am produces Unforgettable.

This is just for anyone who complains about the lack of references. I know for a fact I've read articles confirming all the tracks that are on the main article, it's just taking some time hunting them down.

This source: http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.4632/title.nas-hip-hop-is-dead-the-n-tracklisting

And this source: http://rap.about.com/od/reviews/fr/NasHipHopIsDead.htm

Are two completely different tracklists of the same album. I think it's safe to say that no list is really credible at this point, and that the tracklist should be deleted until the album comes out or Nas confirms the entire thing (and even then he's gone back and forth a time or two).

To The Idiot Who Deleted All The Tracks

The other tracks were confirmed. There are many sources to prove it. Next time you delete something, make sure you have factual reasons to.

Album Name

The Name of the album is Hip Hop Is Dead. Not Hip Hop Is Dead? or Hip Hop Is Dead...The N. It is confirmed on Def Jam under Nas's name.

Actually on Def Jam "Hip Hop Is Dead" is for his single not the name of the album. --Samil20 12:47, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And for his Ad in Def Jam, it reads: Hip Hop Is Dead The N December 19th--198.110.74.147 15:22, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Album cover

The current album image in the infobox (Image:Hiphopisdead.jpg) has no source as to where it was taken and seems to be made in Photoshop. --Zimbabweed 00:06, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Too fake for anyones eyes. -Arcadios
How could it have possibly been photoshopped? It was a damn photoshoot of Nas you fucktards! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.106.51.89 (talkcontribs)
Co-sign; Its the real album cover unless it changes from now until release date
I hope this isn't the cover....it look a little....bleh.
That's nice to hear, but Wiki isn't the place to talk about it. Go to a forum or something. Personally I think it's a cool-looking cover, but what I think doesn't matter, it's what Nas thinks.
Actually this is what wiki is for if you read the guidelines for wikipedia talk.--Samil20 14:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If I'm not mistaken Wiki talk is for reasons to upgrade or improve the article, not to spout your opinions about what an artist's album cover looks like. The comment no way improves or shines light on the article, and neither do these... So I'm done talking about it.
Show me where it says that you cannot state opinions is the guidelines, dumbass
Who said you can't state opinions? All I'm saying is that the talk page is for discussion on improving the article, not simply stating your own opinion. If you can state your opinion while doing your best to make this article as strong as possible, then by all means go for it. "it look a little....bleh." Doesn't further this article's purpose at all. Nor does calling me a dumbass, which shows true maturity and intelligence on your part.
