Mindustry is a cross-platform tower defense video game where you build a factory in order to defend your Core (the player's spawn point and resource storage) from waves of enemies. It is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3.0[1]
Gameplay
The game starts off with the player(s) collecting resources, and defending from the initial wave of enemies using their mech. A large selection of weapons and turrets are provided in the game, with varying Power and Ammo usages, as offensive structures, with Walls made of various in-game materials functioning as defense.
As the game progresses, the difficulty of the enemies increases incrementally, with the type of enemy sent each wave rotating out.[citation needed]
Community
There is a small official community surrounding the game, including a discord server, alongside two official game servers, and multiple third party servers.[2]
Beta
Mindustry 3.5 is the current stable version of Mindustry; however there is an active beta version which has a different graphical design and slight game tweaks.[2]
Creation
All versions of Mindustry are programmed in Java with the game graphics framework LibGDX.
