The result of the discussion was merge to Template:Navseasoncats. — JJMC89(T·C) 01:01, 1 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Template:DecadeCategoryNav with Template:Navseasoncats.
Template:Navseasoncats does a better job, more simply:

  1. Navseasoncats needs no parameters
  2. Navseasoncats displays 11 decades in the series, whereas Template:DecadeCategoryNav displays only 7.
  3. DecadeCategoryNav clutters its navbox with an extra row of extraneous links, to the raw decade. A navbox is a signpost, and clutter impedes navigation.

Navseasoncats has grown to become overwhelmingly the most-used navigation tool for years, decades, seasons, etc. Standardising on Navseasoncats where possible provides readers with consistency of navigation, which is an important goal of any computer interface. I would definitely support a merge of {{DBDecadesInCentury}}. I haven't checked {{DBCenturiesIn2ndMillennium}} properly, but at first glance it looks mergeworthy. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 21:57, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I guess not. I've done it now adding a note about the other nomination. --Trialpears (talk) 16:46, 24 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

These templates used to include links to about a dozen portals each. Recently the vast majority of those portals have been deleted leaving these templates pretty barren and not very useful. Currently unused. BLAIXX 12:03, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
