Alternative Airlines is a travel fare aggregator website and travel metasearch engine, based near Gatwick Airport, in the UK [1]. The website is an IATA-bonded and ATOL protected agency [2].
The Alternative Airlines website displays flight search results in real time from over 600 airlines, so users can shop and compare flight prices from different airlines, and then book their flights, all through the Alternative Airlines platform. The site was founded with the aim of offering customers a new and easier way to book flights on smaller regional airlines around the world [3].
Alternative Airlines was founded in 2007. Since then, new payment options and airlines have been added to the website.
In 2015, customers were able to use PayPal to pay for flights through the Alternative Airlines website for the first time.
In 2018, Amazon Pay was also made available [4] [5].
Alternative Airlines was included on 2019 The Sunday Times Tech Track 100 list, ranking 93rd in the list of top performing British companies.
