Hi! My name is Allan and I am an Instructional Designer working in the Silicon Valley. I have a BA in History and an MA in U.S. History and War & Society, and I am currently completing a Ph.D. in U.S. and Latin-American History. I have been involved with Wikipedia since 2010, but I've only started contributing regularly in 2019.

When I was a kid, I moved to a new city, town, or state almost annually. It wasn't hard for me to make friends where ever I moved, but it was often hard to deal with the inconsistency of starting over every year. There were four constants in my life growing up in the 1990s: my family, video games, baseball, and the late-1970s set of World Book Encyclopedias and Annual Digests I inherited from my grandma Bernice. I loved those books and spend hours reading them and learning about the history, science, religion, etc. In many ways, Wikipedia has replaced my encyclopedias and I am excited to contribute to the effort.

I am currently working on expanding articles about early 20th-century films.
