Joseph P. Goodwin was a folklorist and assistant director of the Ball State University Career Center. Goodwin died on November 18, 2015 in Muncie, Indiana.

- Along with Polly Stewart, Goodwin was honored by the Qualia Encyclopedia of Gay People with the “PoJo” award, which is given to students for exceptional research about gay folklore.[1]
