Stinking Creek is a stream in Knox County, Kentucky, in the United States.[1]

Stinking Creek was so named because hunters were known to leave stinking corpses of animals they killed lying in and around the stream.[2]

Specifically my father born there asserts "because of all the buffalo corpses and the extreme sulfur content of the water" .
