Patsy Brown

Patsy Brown was an Irish-American maker of the uilleann pipes who lived from approximately 1890 to 1960. Originally from Kerry, Ireland, he made his home in Chicago and Boston, Massachusetts. He was a part-time maker, so his output was not huge, but his style is very distinctive. He may have made sets from about 1910 till 1960.
His work was broadly styled after that of the Taylor_brothers, but what made it distinctive was his use of a Böhm-style keywork on all the holes at the front of the chanter, with broad Taylor-style keys on the holes at the back of the chanter. A number of his chanters are known, and not all of them share this distinctive style.
