Template:LDS Temple/McAllen Texas The McAllen Texas Temple is an announced temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The intent to construct the temple was announced on 5 October 2019 by chuch president Russell M. Nelson in the Women's Session of the church's general conference. The announcement also included the Freetown, Sierra Leone; Orem, Utah; Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea; Bentonville Arkansas; Bacolod, Philippines; Cóban, Guatemala; and Taylorsville, Utah temples.[1][2][3][4][5] As of 17 October 2019 the Temple is in the planning stages with bids for construction underway.[6] The project is estimated to cost from one to three million dollars.[6]
