Break My Stride
Appearance
Break My Stride was a major hit single for Matthew Wilder in 1983-84. This reggae-infused synth-pop song was perhaps best known for its incessantly catchy chorus ("Ain't nothing gonna break my stride, nobody gonna slow me down..."). The chorus was later sampled for the Puff Daddy song "Can't Nobody Hold Me Down" in 1997. 'Break My Stride' was Matthew Wilder's only UK hit, it also reached number 4 in both the UK and US charts in Jan 1984.
Song was covered by
- Unique II ("Break My Stride", 1996)
- Blue Lagoon ("Break My Stride", 2004)
- Herreys ("Det finns ingenting som hindrar mig")
- El Simbolo ("No te preocupes", 1996)
- AC Rock ("Break My Stride", 1999) a capella version
