Lake Seminole Park is an over-250 acre park, located on the shores of Lake Seminole in Pinellas County, Florida, which has a fair amount of wildlife in the park as well.[1] It is home to biking and walking trails, which has is one main two-mile trail, which has a one-mile shortcut. On that main trail, there are little unpaved paths that go along the water, which is where there is a lot more nature and less crowded then the main paved, path. There are multiple small paths that are about half a mile that go around a little pond, a big hill, and the playground.
Wildlife
The main wildlife consists of alligators, bald eagles, black vultures, roseate spoonbills, osprey, tiger swallowtail, pickerelweed, river otters, and green tree frogs. The invasive exotic plant reduction project is a volunteer program, where people reduce the reproduction of invasive plants, like pepper trees. The trees that need to be removed have a pink ribbon tied around them so you can see that it needs to be taken out.
Amenities
Besides a normal park, the Lake Seminole Park offers also 13 picnic shelters and a ballfield and a playground. Since there is a boat ramp people are able to go fishing in the lakes. The most important fishing species in the lakes are bass, crappie, bream, shellcraker, catfish, gar, and carp. Besides fishing, the park is also well known for duck hunting.[2]
There is also a recycling collection unit in the park, which is location 29, in Pinellas County.[3]
The park is also designed for people with wheelchairs, by making the park wheelchair accessible.[1]
