The link Stephens in the infobox is not correct : James Francis Stephens (1792-1852) couldn't have described that species in 1887 (35 years after his death !) - Cymbella (talk) 22:56, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article named as the source for the information that upon hearing the drumming of another rat, Dip. deserti come out of the burrow to chase them away/engage in rollover fight doesn't connect that behaviour to the sound of foot drumming, instead just states " They aggressively chase neighbours that visit their burrows and engage in rollover fights (Stern 1980; Randall 1997, unpublished data)" (p. 580, Randall and King, 2001.) I'm not claiming the information to be incorrect, but might need another citation.
