The link Stephens in the infobox is not correct : James Francis Stephens (1792-1852) couldn't have described that species in 1887 (35 years after his death !) - Cymbella (talk) 22:56, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
The article named as the source for the information that upon hearing the drumming of another rat, Dip. deserti come out of the burrow to chase them away/engage in rollover fight doesn't connect that behaviour to the sound of foot drumming, instead just states " They aggressively chase neighbours that visit their burrows and engage in rollover fights (Stern 1980; Randall 1997, unpublished data)" (p. 580, Randall and King, 2001.) I'm not claiming the information to be incorrect, but might need another citation.
