Antagonism (phytopathology)

In phytopathology, antagonism refers to the suppression or interference with the normal growth of a plant pathogen by another microorganism, such as bacteria or fungi.

Antagonistic organisms are often introduced as biocontrols for plant diseases, either as concentrated inoculants or through the use of compost teas.
