The Edgar Martinez Award is an award granted annually since 1973 to the most outstanding Designated Hitter in Major League Baseball. Formerly known simply as the Outstanding Designated Hitter Award, it was renamed for Edgar Martinez, the longtime DH of the Seattle Mariners and five time winner of the award after he retired. David Ortiz has won the award for the last four consecutive seasons.
