Creative Zen
The Creative Zen is a line of MP3 players produced by Creative Labs. Some models feature a touch-pad interface somewhat similar to Apple's iPod, but it is a vertical strip rather than a circle. They are capable of playing WMA, MP3 and WAV audio files, and the players are based on miniature hard-disk drives rather than flash memory.
There are four versions of Zen: the Zen Touch, Zen Micro, Zen NX and Zen Xtra. The Touch was developed directly to compete with the full-sized versions of the iPod. It is comparable in size and capabilities, with a 20GB disk drive and battery life that is reputed to be over 20 hours. The Zen Micro, as the name implies, is a smaller model. It was designed to compete with the iPod Mini, featuring 5GB of hard disk space. The Micro comes in a variety of colors, and both models feature the aforementioned touch-pad strip used to scroll through song lists and menus. The Zen Xtra comes in 30GB and 60GB sizes.
The Zen range is very popular in the Asia pacific with the Zen Touch sales outnumbering the Apple's Ipods namely due to better battery life, functionality as well as the design which result in ease of navigation.
