Early life

Kisses Delavin came from a prominent family in Masbate City involved in various businesses such as hotels and trading. Kisses is of Filipino, Spanish and Chinese descent. Her father, Gilbert Delavin is originally from San Fernando, Masbate while her mother, Carrie Delavin (née Tan) is from Legazpi, Albay. Her mother conceived eight times and she was the only one who survived. Her family moved from Quezon City to Masbate shortly after her birth. At age 6, she was stricken with viral encephalitis. She fell into a coma but miraculously recovered after 24 hours without any lifelong damage.[1]

Education

Delavin attended Jose Zurbito Sr. Elementary School and completed her secondary education in Masbate National Comprehensive High School. She went to De La Salle University and took up a degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. In 2016, she filed a leave of absence to venture on a career in show business.[citation needed]

Career

Delavin was cast several times as a model in various Natasha campaigns.[2] She held a cameo role in the 2015 teleserye Pangako Sa 'Yo.

She was a pageant winner from Masbate, having won Miss Kaogma prior to joining Pinoy Big Brother in 2016.[3] She was also crowned Miss Masbate Province earlier that year.

Despite the success, the team-up ended following a controversial interview in the online show, Kapamilya Chat.

Tickets to her self-titled grand album launch on November 2017 sold out within 30 minutes. More than 15,000 units of her album were sold the day prior to its launch. She formally received her gold and platinum certifications from PARI on the January 21, 2018 episode of ASAP.[5]
