Charlotte Louise Nichols (born c. 1991/1992) is a British Labour Party politician and trade unionist who has been the Member of Parliament for Warrington North since the 2019 general election. She describes herself as a socialist. Nichols is employed as a GMB union national research and policy officer.
Born in Reading, Berkshire, she grew up in Romford and spent much of her childhood and then adulthood in Culcheth, Warrington. She studied Politics at the University of Liverpool[1] before moving to Salford. She spent five years working for Warrington division of the trade union USDAW.[2][3] She is currently based in London.
Nichols was raised Catholic, but converted to Judaism as an adult. [4]
Even during her short time as an MP she has attracted significant controversy, including giving a false address during her election campaign[5], calling people she disagreed with to "get their heads kicked in"[6] and was accused of homophobia when she posted what appeared to be a homophobic picture mocking LGBT+ Conservatives on Twitter[7]. For these, she has faced calls to resign.
