Chanda puts Shantanu up for adoption and he gets adopted by Nivedita Mazumdar. Despite Shantanu's attempts to stay back, he is taken away. Puchki and Shantanu miss each other. Known as Asmita, she has shifted to Mumbai and works for the police. Destiny brings Shantanu and Puchki face to face but they fail to recognize each other. Hridoy starts falling in love with Asmita. Through a series of misunderstandings, Asmita believes Shantanu to be Chanda's murderer and decides to take revenge by marrying Hridoy. Hridoy falls off leading to his mental state deteriorating to that of a ten year old child. Asmita vows to stay by Hridoy's side until he recovers.
