Beaverlodge is a town in north-west Alberta located on Highway 43. It is the birthplace of Matt Walker (hockey player). In 2004 a Giant Beaver attraction was unveiled. The town has an arena, an outdoor swimming pool,a handful of newly refurbished and constructed playparks and three schools. Junior High students are bused to Hythe for grades 7-9 but come back to attend Beaverlodge Regional High School for grades 10-12. There is also St.Mary's Catholic School for students attending grades 1-9. Population: 2,176 (2005)
