Ordinary Man is a song by Ozzy Osbourne featuring Elton John on piano and vocals. Besides John, it also features Slash on guitar. The track was released as the third single from the album Ordinary Man on January 10th, 2020. This is Elton John's first single in three years following A Good Heart in 2016.

Composition

"Ordinary Man" is different from Osbourne's prior work in that it features pop rock and soft rock elements. The song is also a power ballad in the vain of "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "Close My Eyes Forever", also by Ozzy in 1989 and 1992, respectively, with the latter being a duet with Lita Ford. The song also features Elton John on piano and vocals, and because of this, features a piano rock sound similar to John's solo career. The song also features backing vocals arranged like a choir. The guitar was recorded by Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash while drums were played by Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and bass guitar was recorded by Slash's Guns N' Roses bandmate Duff McKagan
