rename article with full name?
I guess if he was know for his role on Glee using his full name before anything else, should we rename this Finneas O'Connell or just leave it?Melodies1917 (talk) 19:53, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- I moved the page. It seems Finneas O'Connell himself is the only person who uses the mononymous "Finneas". All other sources use his full name. GodsPlaaaaan (talk) 16:08, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- I'm very late in seeing this, but thanks for this. Melodies1917 (talk) 14:53, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Lillie Eilish
"Lillie Eilish" is listed as Finneas' sister in the sidebar, but there doesn't seem to be any evidence that such a person exists, save for a few joke posts on Instagram by fan accounts. I think this should be removed unless it can be confirmed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 38.98.251.227 (talk) 19:33, 8 July 2019 (UTC)

Finneas O'Connell → Finneas – There are currently 4.1 million Google results for his given name (of which he is the only notable bearer), vs. 1.3 million for his full name. His official website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram all use the mononym, and he has now appeared on the Billboard charts as Finneas. While I certainly understand where there was previously debate over which name to use, I think this grown into a fairly clear case of WP:COMMONNAME. Sock (tock talk) 00:03, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

- Support. MONONYM. Shhhhwwww!! (talk) 15:53, 16 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support – Per reasons above. JE98 (talk) 02:13, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. If you look at the examples give at WP:MONONYM, the proposed move is hard to justified. The guideline says to use "Oprah Winfrey", not Oprah. The form "Finneas O'Connell" is everywhere. See this Google new search. Colin Gerhard (talk) 13:03, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
