Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program (title for draft)
My topic of choice is the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program (BHCHP). There has been no previous Wikipedia page on this healthcare clinic. I believe the topic is notable as it is a facility that serves one of Boston’s most vulnerable populations. I also think that it can serve as a method for others who would like to receive care to learn more about the safe space that BHCHP offers. The potential places that will serve as sources for me include the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless website, the Massachusetts General Hospital website, and other primary sources from journal articles that detail healthcare services in Boston for underserved populations. I would include the background history to BHCHP, the communities it serves, jobs offered, volunteer opportunities, donation methods, and medical services provided associated with BHCHP. I would also like to expand upon the bigger picture to homelessness in Boston if possible. This is to comment on how the medical profession contributes to homelessness and why society stigmatizes those who are experiencing homelessness.
