Jeffrey Conrad Stewart born in Chicago and moved to Altadena, California in 1964 is an American Professor of Black Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara.[1] He won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in Biography and the 2018 National Book Award for Nonfiction for The New Negro: The Life of Alain Locke.[2][3][4][5] [6][7]
