COVID-19 pandemic in Iran

During the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak, Iran reported its first confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.[1] As of 21 February 2020[update], four COVID-19 deaths had occurred in Iran.[2][3]
Timeline
On 19 February, 2 people tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 in Qom.[1] Later that day, the Ministry of Health and Medical Education stated that both had died.[2]
On 20 February, 3 new cases were reported by the Ministry of Health. Two of them were from city of Qom and one from Arak.[4]
On 21 February, 13 new cases were reported. Seven cases are from Qom, 4 from Tehran, and 2 from Gilan Province. Two more people in Iran died from COVID-19.[3]
On Feb 22, according to BBC Persian Ministry of Health reported 10 more infected cases and one more death. 8 cases were from city of Qom and 2 cases from Tehran.
