Melodifestivalen 2020 is the 60th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen. It will be held between 1 February and 7 March 2020.[1] Presenters for the edition will be Lina Hedlund, David Sundin and Linnea Henriksson.[2] The winner of the competition will represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.[2] The competition will be broadcast on SVT.[3]

On 3 September 2019, Lina Hedlund, David Sundin and Linnea Henriksson were announced as the presenters for the 60th edition of Melodifestivalen.[2]

Semi-final 1

The first semi final took place on 1 February 2020 at the Saab Arena in Linköping.[1] More than 454,000 SEK were collected for Radiohjälpen.[4]

Semi-final 2

The second semi final took place on 8 February 2020 at the Scandinavium arena in Gothenburg.[1] On 2 February, it was announced that Thorsten Flinck would be disqualified from appearing due to criminal charges of unlawful threat and vandalism.[5] On 3 February, Jan Johansen was announced as the replacement act.[6]

Second Chance round

Competitors at the Second Chance.

The Second Chance round (Andra chansen) will take place on 29 February 2020 at the Stiga Sports Arena in Eskilstuna.[1] This is the first time in the history of the competition that the city will host a Melodifestivalen round.
