Hilltv: why not include the name of the General Manager who led the charge? Nobody1234 seems to want to include it as well. FactoidChecker 00:13, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Citrus TV is incorrectly listed as the oldest student run TV station in the country. Ithaca College Television started on October 18th 1958 as WICB-TV http://www.ithaca.edu/rhp/community/ictv50/. I will be editing out the claim as it is false. Their slogan is also factually incorrect. If there are no objections to this edit I will remove the slogan since it is also factually incorrect. areusche 15:05, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

Ithaca's TV station is not entirely student-run. It is housed in the communications school and has faculty oversight. CitrusTV has no faculty oversight, hence it is the oldest "entirely student-run" organization. That said, CitrusTV no longer promotes itself as the oldest and largest, even though there still is factual accuracy to the claim that it is the oldest *entirely* student-run. 128.230.189.186 (talk) 22:31, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I updated their slogan to "Syracuse University's favorite student-run tv station." I'm pretty sure I incorrectly added it since it is not showing up. Could someone help me fix it? The real slogan is on their website http://www.citrustv.net/ areusche 15:47, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

I am going to remove the list of general managers from the page as per WP:DIRECTORY #1 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not . More information can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Stand-alone_lists#Appropriate_topics_for_lists areusche (talk) 00:45, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I added the list of general managers back to the page because it is not an extensive list that deserves its own page according to Wikipedia policies. 74.78.218.116 (talk) 05:59, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

@User 128.230.189.186 It's semantics, but CitrisTV does have faculty oversight as per citation by a professor. Ithaca College Television also has a faculty adviser as does every other student station in the country. Ithaca College TV is in fact the oldest "student run" college TV station in the country. If you wish to add the "oldest student run station with its own building" tidbit to the line then go for it, but at this point it is all semantics. areusche (talk) 01:52, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@Areusche, CitrusTV does have an important factor of faculty oversight with an adviser. However, unlike Ithaca College Television, there is no day-to-day faculty or administration involvement in operations or production. Therefore, it is by definition entirely student run. The advising capacity is just that of an adviser. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.246.113.113 (talk) 05:07, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
