Deodeok-gui
Appearance
Deodeokgui is a Korean vegetable dish thinly spread out and broiled with gochujang.[1][2]
Origin and History
The dish was invented by ethnic Koreans living in China.[3]
Ingredients
- 100g of deodeok
- 1 tsp of soy sauce
- 1 Tsp of sesame oil[1]
Sauce
- 3 Tsp of gochujang
- 1 and 1/2 tsp of sugar
- 1 Tsp of chopped spring onion
- 1 tsp of crushed garlic
- 1/2 tsp of sesame seed
- 1 Tsp of sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp of soy sauce[1]
Preparation
- Peel the deodeok and slice it by half in length.
- Soak it in salt water for a while and drain it.
- Apply whey to the dried deodeok.
- For seasoning, add gochujang, chopped spring onion, crushed garlic, sesame seed, sesame oil, sugar and soy sauce and mix them and set aside.
- Heat a pan and pour some oil.
- Add the drained deodeok and grill it evenly for each side.
- Take out the grilled deodeok and put the sauce on both side and grill in low medium heat until the deodeok becomes soft without being burnt.[1]
