Fahrudin Radončić (pronounced [rǎdoːnt͡ʃit͡ɕ]; born 24 May 1957) is a Bosnian media magnate, entrepreneur, investor, and politician who is the 6th and current Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the founder of the Dnevni avaz, the most influential and best-selling newspaper in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is the founder and current president of the Union for a Better Future of BiH (SBB BiH).
Radončić already served as Minister of Security once, from 22 November 2012 until 29 April 2014. From 2015 to 2019, he was also the member of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Career
Journalism
Born in Berane, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia, Radončić was professional journalist and editor from 1978. The period from 1983 to 1988 was marked by his professional engagement in journalistic and socio-political work. In 1990, Radončić started working as journalist and analyst – commentator in Weekly political Magazine “Danas” (English: "Today"). That same year, his book “10.000 days of imprisonment” about violations of human rights was published.
Business

- 2007 – Won the largest Public acknowledgement for contribution to the construction of Sarajevo Canton
- 2008 – Planned the construction of the Avaz Twist Tower, highest building/tower in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the Balkans
- 2012 – Owner of the largeest business centre in Tuzla
Dnevni Avaz and other media ventures
From 1992 through 1993, while a soldier in the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Radončić felt the need for a printed journal in form of a cultural reaction and resistance to the aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina. In October 1993, while stationed and living in besieged Sarajevo, he launched a weekly publication of a journal named Bošnjački avaz (English: Bosniak Voice). The first texts published in this magazine, dated 15 November 1993, were strongly opposed to the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina".
In 1995, through his publishing company, Radončić launched the Dnevni avaz (Eng: Daily Voice), the most influential printed and internet media in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Political career
By entering the political stage, officially announced on 24 September 2009, Radončić announced the creation of his own political party, the Union for a Better Future of BiH. Since then, he has served as Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina on two occasions, the first time from 22 November 2012 until 29 April 2014, and the second time since 23 December 2019 to this day. From 15 January 2015 until 23 December 2019, Radončić was a member of the House of Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
