Get Rich or Die Tryin' , released in 2003, it was supposed to be released pn February 11 but due to leakage on the internet it was released on February 6. It is the debut album of New York City rapper 50 Cent. Probably the most hyped debut album by a rap artist in about a decade, most likely since Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle or perhaps Nas' Illmatic, 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin' certainly arrived amid massive expectations. It was produced by Eminem and Dr. Dre, and featured singles "In Da Club", "If I Can't", "P.I.M.P." and "21 Questions". The single "In Da Club" was Billboard Magazine's number one single for the year. It was the first time since 1994 that an artist had both the number one song and album for the year (Ace of Base held that distinction last with "The Sign"). The song depicted club culture and its "vibes" and ebbs. In an interview Dr. Dre said it was the best album in the past 7 years.

In its first week of release, Get Rich Or Die Tryin' sold 872,000 copies, breaking the record for first week sales of any major label debut in the entire Soundscan era. It was also the second best opening week for any rap album in history selling 822,000 copies, behind Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP. [1]. The album spent a total of six weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and three weeks on the UK Album Charts. It was the best selling album of 2003. The album has since sold 7.3 million in the U.S and 12 million copies worldwide.

Get Rich Or Die Tryin' was also released in an edited version that was very highly censored. This version of the album completely censors all violence, profanity, and drug content with little error. This is one of the most highly censored releases of all time going beyond all of Eminem and DMX's albums.
