The Rialto Theater is a historic movie theater at Race and Spring Streets in central Searcy, Arkansas. Built in the 1920s and renovated in 1940, it is one of the few buildings in all of White County to exhibit Art Deco styling (a result of the 1940 alterations), and the only theater with that styling. Its neon marquee is also the most elaborate known in the county.[2]

The theater was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.[1]The Rialto was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. What may seem just an old building, the Rialto is actually much more, this is an artifact that brings people of all ages together.

A few events held in the past:

Small Business Revolution Show Premier Watch Party- October 8th, 2019

Five Minute Film Festival- November 2nd, 2019

Renovations

Because the theatre has been loved and used for the course of many years, over time the general make up has been renovated several times, however; most of the original structure has stayed the same.

The original theatre (known as the Grand Theatre), torn down in 1923 then rebuilt that same year. Within five years, the theater’s name was changed to “The Rialto”.

in 2019 when a town committee came together to take over the building. Phase one was the exterior work, specifically repainting and redoing the iconic neon lights.
