The 1955–56 Iraqi Central First Division was the 8th season of the Iraqi Central League (the top division of football in central Iraq, including the capital city of Baghdad, from 1948 to 1974). Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Al-Malikiya (now known as Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya) won their first title, ending Haris Al-Maliki's run of seven consecutive titles.[1][2][3] It ended up being the last season Haris Al-Maliki ever competed in before being disbanded.[4]
