Dante Gulapa is a Filipino internet personality known for his viral "macho dance" videos posted online on Facebook in 2019.[1] He was nicknamed the "Big Papa" or "King Eagle" by his fans dubbed the "Gulapanatics" or "Daigonatics" for his signature dance move.[2][3][4]
Personal life
Gulapa was raised by his grandparents as a child. When his grandparents died, his life became traumatic and began acting tyrannically and oppressively.[4] When he was old enough, he visited night bars and started performing as a bar dancer. According to him, his struggle with financial issues pushed him to pursue erotic dancing. He also took different jobs aside from being a performer.[5] His wife, Emilyn, was against his dancing due to their children being all girls. He took the pseudonym "Master Daigo" from Lightning Legend: Daigo no Daibouken on PlayStation. The bar DJ where he worked from added the titular "Master" as recognition for his excellence at performing and showmanship.[6]
He was featured on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and his life story on Magpakailanman with Gulapa himself and Jak Roberto portraying his teenage years.[7]
