Ampère Seamount

Ampère Seamount is located 600 km west of Gibraltar and northeast of Madeira at 35°02’N and 12°54’W . The Seamount rises from ocean depths of about 4500 m well into the euphotic zone. The summit topograhy is rather disturbed with a summit plateau in about 120 m and a peak reaching up to 55 m below the water surface.
