Editing

"Platypus has been listed as a level-4 vital article in Biology. If you can improve it, please do." That's rather difficult to do when the article appears to have been edit-protected.... :(

This sentence needs correcting: "One of the X chromosomes of the platypus have been found to have great homology to the bird Z chromosome." 'One has', not 'one have'.

Platypus, new cultuual reference

The platypus makes an appearance in the novel 'The Nutmeg of Consolation,' one of the series of 20 international best-selling historical novels of the Napoleonic era by Patrick O'Brien, featuring Captain Jack Aubrey of the Royal Navy and his friend, the naval surgeon, spy and naturalist Stephen Maturin. In the novel, Stephen is poisoned by a platypus and his friends fear he is mortally hurt. He recovers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Walkermartin (talkcontribs) 11:31, 11 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
