Flowers On the Weekend is the third studio album by American hip hop recording artist Asher Roth. The album was released on April 23, 2020, by Retrohash LLC. The album was solely produced by Asher Roth Old time music friend Rob Deckhart and features guest appearances from Lil Yachty, Gaby Duran, CJ Smith, Joyce Wrice, Bubby and Iojii.
Background
Asher Roth released his second studio album in 2014, after several delays and cancelled albums with creative differences being the main issues with major labels he finally got released from contact in 2012 and created his own imprint and label called Retrohash that was taken from the name of his second album and spells his name asher roth backwards the album RetroHash is just the kick off of this newfound freedom."[1]
Recording and production
Towards the end of 2016 Asher moved back to Philadelphia and was reunited with an old/new best musical friend Rob Deckhart and th dream of finally recording an album in his home state was finally a reality and the two spent four years working on a number of tracks till the project that is Flowers on the Weekend was finished.
Release and promotion
The Album had very minimal promotion compared to Asher previous albums with just emails sent out to Asher loyal fan base.
Singles
The First single was released in 2018 the track "Mommydog" featuring CJ Smith
Second Single "Hunnid" featuring Joyce Wrice was released in April, 2020 as the main promotional single before the album was fully released.
Commercial performance
The Album was the first of Asher Career to not chart in any form of the Billboard Chart.
