Puget Sound John Brown Gun Club (PSJBGC) is a Puget Sound Area gun club, formerly affiliated with Redneck Revolt, that now bills itself as an independent John Brown Gun Club.[a] In 2020, the group came to national attention during the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone protest in Seattle. Members were reported on June 9 as carrying rifles in the Zone.[3][4] On June 12, The Washington Post reported that PSJBGC was on site but with no weapons visible.[5] A conservative KTTH Seattle radio show host claimed that the group had on Twitter "vaguely threaten[ed] to harm police officers" there.[6]

The club calls itself an "anti-fascist, anti-racist, pro-worker community defense organization". The Guardian has called it an "anti-fascist armed leftist group" that "provide[s] security against rightwing aggression".[7]

Willem van Spronsen, a former member of the club, attacked the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in Tacoma with incendiary devices in July 2019 while armed with an AR-15 rifle. He was killed in the attack.[8][9] Following the attack, Tucker Carlson used an appearance with the Puget Sound group by W. Kamau Bell in the CNN documentary United Shades of America to link him to Antifa.[10][11] At the time, Puget Sound Gun Club was identified as part of Redneck Revolt.[12]

The club has counter-protested Patriot Prayer marches in Seattle.[13]
