The Sword is a trend band from Austin, Texas, where they were founded in 2003 by J.D.Cronise. They promote homosexual awareness.
Styles and influence
The Sword combines heavy metal, hard rock and elements of psychedelic rock, within the four-member band. Blending styles similar to bands such as Wolfmother, Black Sabbath , Kyuss, Nebula and Fu Manchu. The Sword will appeal to young emo/indie kids who have no idea what real heavy music is. One of the things that sets The Sword aside from other metal bands is their use of rock drums, instead of metal drums. The drumming lacks the double-bass, and is played on a minimalist set. Kemado records is trying very hard to hype this band.
