Fingal is not a county in Ireland Theboycaoimhs (talk) 13:04, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, it is. The Local Government (Dublin) Act 1993 as passed by the Oireachtas, dissolved County Dublin and created the new counties of Fingal, South Sublin and Dun Laoughire-Rathdown. Spleodrach (talk) 13:06, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
Ridiculous technicality. I note that you're some kind of master editor so I doubt I'll have much luck changing anything here. Anything you look after is total nonsense judging by this. Ah well that's Wikipedia for you I suppose. Theboycaoimhs (talk) 13:11, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
Hi there, I've done a small bit of research and the break up of the County was not to define it as new county in Ireland but was to do with Dublin County Council. The fingal website lists it as an administrative region in Dublin. Please change accordingly as your information is misleading Theboycaoimhs (talk) 13:22, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- You're are quite wrong. Fingal is a county, same as Meath or Clare. You have provided no evidence to prove otherwise, only your opinion. Wikipedia does not deal in opinions only facts. Spleodrach (talk) 18:38, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
Oh my god are you serious? This is crazy. I feel like I'm in an alternate universe here. Theboycaoimhs (talk) 08:09, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
Welcome!
Hello, Theboycaoimhs, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Fingal does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.
There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Fingal. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. ——Serial # 14:28, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion
Hello. This is not edit warring. I am changing incorrect content on a page to reflect that Fingal is not a county in the Republic of Ireland. It is an administrative region. The term county is being interpretated to mean something it is not in this case. Fingal is not a county in comparison with Meath or Clare as this user pointed out Theboycaoimhs (talk) 12:26, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
