The Horses Mouth is a 1958 film about a London artist trying to paint his grand vision. The film was directed by Ronald Neame, and starred Alec Guinness. It was based on a 1944 novel by Joyce Cary.

With an Academy Award-nominated screenplay by actor Alec Guinness, the film follows the adventures of Gulley Jimson, an artist who would exploit his friends and acquaintances to achieve his goal in life, the painting of his masterpiece. The film also starred Kay Walsh, Renee Houston, Mike Morgan, and Robert Coote. It generally follows the book it was based on, but focuses on the Jimson character and what it means to be an artist, rather than the social and political themes the book explored.
