In popular media?

I know sometimes figures like these can be mentioned frequently... but he is mentioned several times by name in Shaun David Hutchinson (2017). At the Edge of the Universe. Simon Pulse. in ways that relate to plot/themes.

I would think such a section about cultural mentions would differ from the current Legacy section. We may find mentions or allegories in popular movies, etc., that would be interesting. Thoughts? = paul2520 (talk) 14:01, 11 March 2020 (UTC)

I agree; there's a moderately well-received music project under the name Giles Corey that's gotten some press from Pitchfork, The Needle Drop, Vice, etc. Not a huge note, but probably worth a short mention.24.211.137.194 (talk) 02:40, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Another issue to consider is that we should be letting reliable, third-party sources call out these references. It's not enough for a movie or band to mention Giles Corey. I wouldn't say I have a specific source, though Giles Corey has its own wiki page with about 20 sources, though some are closer to primary. I'd say naming an indie band popular enough to justify a wiki page is notable enough, given that a lot of the references are from pretty reputable sources (ie., sputnikmusic, wired, independent.) It's clearly not a local dude in his basement and might be of interest to people looking at this page.24.211.137.194 (talk) 07:56, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
