Aranais is the name given to a dialect of Occitan spoken in the Val d'Aran in Spain where it is recognized as an official language. It is a Gascon mountain dialect which benefits, like [[B%E9arnais]], from a certain linguistic normalization which keeps it original. It belongs to the langue d'oc.
